More than just a camera and full game video.
By using a robot camera and GPS sensors, Trace is the only game film solution that automatically captures your match footage, generates tactical playlists, and delivers each player’s personalized moments directly to their inboxes after each game. Trace saves coaches time and effort, and then empowers players with tools to organize and share their best moments.
The best part? Your team can expect Trace Game Results in their inbox within 14-16 hours from walking off the field.

What is automatic editing?
Trace’s AI, TRACE_BOT, analyzes each game, and breaks it down into personalized video playlists. Each game is edited into tactical playlists including goals, progressions, defensive breakdowns, and thirds. In addition to the tactical playlists, each player receives a personalized playlist of all their moments. Every coach, parent, and player assigned to an account will receive a link to the personalized results by email after each game.
What is Trace iD?
Trace iD is the ultimate highlight reel. It’s your place to save your best moments. It’s a sharing tool: share the link once and it automatically updates as you play more games and add more moments. If you’re looking to play in college, it gives recruiters context: direct access to full game footage from each moment, performance data, and more. Learn more here.
What is a Tracer?
A Tracer is a high-resolution sensor that captures every sprint, movement, position, and max effort. At 0.4oz, it’s so light players don’t even feel it. A Tracer slips into a special sleeve on the calf underneath the sock. Each player wears one Tracer.
What does the Trace Teams app do? And will it work with my Android?
Coaches and Managers run the Trace equipment from the TraceApp. Create your upcoming games and manage your Teams within the TraceApp. TraceApp is compatible with iPhones (no Android support at the moment). However, no app is needed to view Trace game footage.
Does TraceCam really film on its own?
Yes, TraceCam really does film on its own. You turn the cameras on, start recording, and raise the tripod. That’s it. TraceCam captures the whole field and afterward figures out where to pan and zoom all on its own based on what’s going on in the game.
Can I use one subscription for multiple teams?
At checkout, you’ll have the option to purchase an additional roster that will allow you to use your Elite subscription with two teams. You can also purchase this additional roster at any time during your subscription. We’ve found that logistically, things become quite complex when more than two teams share equipment. It also usually means teams will have to decide which games they do and don’t want to be filmed, something we want to minimize because we think every team should film as much as possible.
What happens if my event/season gets canceled?
Teams may receive a full refund if their equipment has not yet shipped. Once the equipment has shipped, the team may receive a refund less $100 for shipping and processing costs. This covers the cost of returning the equipment to Trace. This $100 may be kept by the team as a credit towards any future purchase of Trace products and services. An unused Elite Subscription may be transferred to a different team in lieu of a refund. The new team will take over the trial on the agreed-upon start date and will be responsible for any outstanding balances or upgrade costs.
Will someone be onsite to film or help with setup?
Trace is an automated solution to manual filming and editing. You can learn everything you need to know through our online tutorials and our Trace Teams app. Once you start the camera, the rest happens on its own!
Can I download Trace game video?
Yes, you can download the full game video of any match or any moment captured by Trace for free. We also highly encourage players to share Trace footage by adding moments to your Trace iD. This way, you can send friends, family, or college recruiters one URL and give them access to a constantly updated feed of your best moments.
Can I film scrimmages and intrasquad games?
Yes, it is possible to Trace scrimmages or practice. However, in order for TRACE-BOT to process your results correctly, you have to simulate real-game conditions as closely as possible. Click here to see our Best Practices Guide for Filming Scrimmages.
Can Trace be used for practice?
As long as you are simulating a game, Trace can be used. Coaches and teams use Trace for scrimmages at practice, for ID Camps, and more. What you need is to have two halves (can be between 25 – 45 mins) and to switch sides at halftime. That’s it. Fields can be different dimensions, and you can have as many people on each side as you want (as long as you have a goalie).
How do I send equipment back?
Trace will provide prepaid return shipping labels for you to return the equipment at no additional cost. Once the return labels are emailed to you, you just need to drop the equipment off at your most convenient FedEx or USPS location.
