Uploading

Before the Upload

Connect your Trace Case to wifi. Uploading works best on a fast home or wifi connection. Once you connect, the Trace Case will remember your wifi for future uploads.

If you are having trouble, check out the Uploading FAQs.

1. Plug your case into a wall outlet

We recommend allowing the Case to charge for 20-30 minutes prior to uploading.

2. Plug the camera battery pack into a wall outlet

Use a USB wall adapter (like the one you use for your phone) so that the battery pack can charge separately.

3. Plug your Trace Cam into the USB ports

Plug your Trace Cam into the USB ports in the upper right-hand corner of your Trace Case.

4. Press the Upload Button

Press the Upload button at the top left-hand corner of your Trace Case. The case takes 30-60 seconds to power up.

When the case is on you will notice that the Transfer icons are blinking and the Tracer lights are blinking.

5. Check both camera screens

Both camera screens should be in USB mode.

6. Monitoring your upload

Check the case screen in your Trace Teams iOS app for upload status.

*Your phone does not need to be next to your case for the upload to work. You can check your upload status from anywhere.

Expected Upload Time

A typical game with 2 x 45-minute halves consists of 16gb of video and data. On a 10 Mbps upload connection it would take 3 hours, 49 minutes.  We recommend a minimum of 5 Mbps upload speed.

7. Game Results

After your upload is complete your game will start processing. This can take 6 or more hours.

When your game results are ready you, and everyone on the team roster, will receive an email with links to the results.
